A new film club for older moviegoers opens at Cineworld on Monday 23rd April with a showing of the celebrated film, ‘The Queen’.
Every month Enfield’s older movie buffs can enjoy some of the best films at Cineworld for just £2. Doors open at 10.30am for screenings at 11am.
This is one of the first initiatives arranged by the Enfield Strategic partnership after older people contributed to a conference to see how services for them could be improved.
Mark McLaughlin, council champion for older people, said, “This is a great way for older people to meet with friends or make new ones and enjoy some of the latest movies. Thanks to Cineworld we have been able to make these arrangements.”
Cineworld manager, Nisha Matkar, said, “This is an excellent idea. Many of our older customers tell us that they find it difficult to enjoy films among younger people. This will be a good solution for them.”
The screenings will be once a month on a Monday morning – but full details will published in due course.
